Riwaaj means custom — the things we keep doing because they matter.
Riwaaj Creates began in 2019 at a kitchen table in Lucknow, with a stack of chikankari kurtas stitched by our neighbours and a belief that handwork deserved a better stage. Today we work with more than a hundred artisans across four states — and we still check every piece by hand.
How we make
Small batches
We make most pieces in runs of 20 to 40, so nothing sits in a warehouse and every piece gets a second look before it ships.
Artisan partners
We work directly with karigar families and pay per piece at fair, pre-agreed rates — no middlemen taking a cut.
Natural fibres
Mulmul, cotton, chanderi and pure silk first. Fabrics that breathe, drape well and age beautifully.

We work with artisan families in Lucknow, Varanasi, Jaipur and Punjab. Each piece carries weeks of handwork and small, beautiful irregularities no machine can copy.
